you wake up...

and it's barely half past midnight. the room is nearly unfamiliar, but there's a sense of belonging here, as if you've meant to find yourself awakening in this exact spot. a short scouring of the area reveals it to be a hotel room, and just outside the window, obscured by the fog and rain-stained windows, is a neon sign advertising a hotel: Lamb Bed and Breakfast. "no vacancy" blinks beneath it, and as if to confirm that observation, a shuffling noise echoes from the hallway.

but you have no idea how you've gotten here, and you could swear that the parking lot is eeriely still, devoid of cars or any sign of life. the rain pounds on the roof; at once you are told you are alone and you are surrounded.

this is a proposal page for a memory loss mechanic based horror game, codenamed at the moment as ORDINATION. characters awaken in the seemingly abandoned lamb bed and breakfast with no recollection of who they are, or where they are. instead, what they each will remember is that they are searching for their beloved little sister. as the game unravels through exploration, bonding and memory jogging from each other, a strange plot revolving around this young girl comes to light.

ordination would be inspired heavily by classic ps2 horror games like silent hill, resident evil, clock tower, and rule of rose, while also borrowing from newer horror experiences like playable teaser. ordination would focus on body horror, self-sacrifice, and be a tightly run game with a planned endgame point. depending on character actions, the ending will be affected. if condensed into just a few buzzword: ordination, as imagined now, would be a body horror focused exploration of religious horror, forcing characters to confront their deepest fears. as a warning, there would be body trauma, but we could discuss the levels of that.

due to the ambition and over all tone of ordination, it would be planned to be capped at fifty characters and invite only. as mentioned, there are memory loss and regains mechanics, as well as plans that will allow players to run their own events, and exploration mechanics. ordination would likely function similarly to a murdergame, but without the strict schedule.

if you'd like further clarification or to discuss something more in depth, i'm happy to answer questions. as mentioned, this is a game proposal and interest check, so anything here is subject to change.

IZNIK — the town of PAULINA PORT has gotten a face lift recently.

though it has existed for hundreds of years, it's hard to find information predating when paulina port was bought out by the company IZNIK CORP., with the company planning to revitalize the once thriving transportation business. paulina port had once been a hub for travelers and transports, a trading town full of merchants and businessmen. in recent years, it's gone quiet and is barely scraping by— it's too set in it's old ways, they say.

an old practice the town still holds onto is centered around the lighthouse, though anyone who knows the details is hesitant to speak of the place. it's a bit of a row out there, and it seems only criminals are dragged out to the sea to stay the night in paulina port's abandoned lighthouse— the same night where the old lamp is lit at nightfall and shines through the thick fog until dawn.

IZNIK would be a small, invite only survival horror game set in the lighthouse that focuses heavily on personalized psychological horror with a real threat of perma-death based on character actions. players would play a resident of paulina port who has committed a sin. they have been caught by the law, labeled a criminal, and then told that they have a chance at freedom. survive a night in the old abandoned lighthouse and they'll bring a dinghy out in the morning for you. get in it, and they won't ask questions; your record will be wiped clean. you'll be a free man.
